Pump Karts
Project Overview
A free-to-play 3D kart racing and battle game on Solana. Playable in the browser today.
Abstract
Pump Karts is a real-time, free-to-play 3D kart game that runs in the browser: no download, and no wallet needed to play. Races and battles are resolved by an authoritative server. $KARTS, the game's Solana token, powers ranked play, cosmetics and the in-game economy. Pump Karts is live and playable today.
The product
Pump Karts is server-authoritative. Positions, items and results are resolved on the server, so every player sees the same race and the result comes from the server, not from a browser. The roster is an original cast of drivers built for the game, all free to play, across four arenas: Pump Park and Pump Galaxy for racing, Neon City and Pump Casino for battles. It runs on desktop and mobile, with servers in Europe and the US.
Game modes
- GoKarts. Eight-kart circuit racing with drifting, turbo boosts and weapon pickups. Casual lobbies stay together as a playlist and vote on the next map.
- Ranked. GoKarts races for players holding 1,000 $KARTS, feeding a daily leaderboard.
- Rug Rumble. A weapons-based battle arena for up to fifteen karts. The most knockouts when the clock runs out wins.
- 1v1 Duels. Free best-of-three races. Post an open challenge for anyone to accept, or invite a friend with a match ID.
- Private rooms and solo. Race or battle with friends by match ID, or practice against bots.
Progression and retention
- Levels and profiles. Online play earns XP on your wallet. Set levels unlock kart paints, and level 50 unlocks the Genesis kart.
- Daily and weekly quests for holders, with a weekly points leaderboard.
- A daily login streak on a seven-day reward cycle, a friends list, and referral links.
- A sticker maker that lets the community generate character stickers as organic content.
Token and economy
$KARTS is the game's token. Holding it unlocks ranked play, quests and free Lucky Spins. Spending it buys cosmetics.
- Cosmetics. Kart paints and kart skins drop from the Lucky Spin and trade player to player on the in-game market, where the seller receives 100% of the price in $KARTS. Cosmetics are visual only and give no gameplay advantage.
- Custom Studio. Players design their own kart paint, part by part. Unlocks are priced in USD and paid in $KARTS.
- NITRO. The in-game soft currency, earned by playing. It has no cash value and cannot be withdrawn. It pays for extra Lucky Spins, boosts and mystery boxes. $KARTS can be converted into NITRO, and the $KARTS spent that way is burned.
- Verifiable. Market trades and burns settle on-chain, and a public stats page reports the total $KARTS burned.
Current status
Everything described above is live and playable today, not a roadmap.
